The Mental Health Pause – an adaption of the Safety Stand Down

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, workforces have been impacted by emerging hazards, none more important than mental health.  After leading from the front for the first 6 months of the COVID-19 Pandemic, WSP management started to realize we were somewhat blind to the true impacts the COVID-19 Pandemic, and specifically the Victorian lockdown were having on our staff.

We chose to adapt the “”Safety Stand Down”” model of stopping work to discuss critical risks in the business and allow for consultation and story sharing amongst our workers on how they are coping with being well, working productively, and staying connected.

Employees had the opportunity to share their experiences with each other and feed back to the business their ideas on what the business could do to help support them during this time.

We branded this event as our Mental Health Pause.
