Maureen Hassall is an Associate Professor and director of UQ R!SK at The University of Queensland. Her research and consulting work focuses on developing and applying innovative, practical and effective user-centred solutions that address the range of potentially disruptive risks faced by industry. Maureen also provides risk management and human factors advice, education and training direct to industry and to undergraduate, Masters and PhD students. She holds bachelor degrees in engineering and psychology, a MBA and PhD in Cognitive Systems Engineering. Prior to joining UQ, Maureen worked for more than 15 years in mining, processing and manufacturing industries in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
