Nathan is a Certified Professional Risk Manager and holds a Bachelor of Sport & Exercise Science. Nathan has spent 20 years in the safety industry and has been a global leader within drowning prevention, applying risk management frameworks and developing global strategies in collaboration with other nations to reduce the global drowning toll. In 2016, Nathan co-founded safety tech start up Safe365 with Mark Kidd which has rapidly emerged as a leading technology solution used by over 3,500 businesses, helping work health, safety & well-being elevate as an accessible, positive, embraced & embedded part of everyday business.
Prior to Safe365 getting started, Nathan has led operations in Australasia, South America, Asia, Middle East and Europe. Nathan has spent time as a former General Manager of Surf Life Saving New Zealand and Surf Life Saving Australia. The latter included leadership of significant safety culture reforms in an iconic Australian organisation 180,000 members & volunteers exposed to unpredictable, high risk environments every day. Nathan is former Chairman of ACC NZ Drowning Prevention Strategy, Environmental Advisory Committee (2007-2010) which was responsible for developing a risk based approach to drowning prevention in NZ.
